PS Emmylou , the world’s only wood-fired cruising Paddlesteamer is now offering Australia's most luxurious boutique river cruises. Recently relaunched following a specially designed luxury upgrade and fit out, the Emmylou now offers an extended 3 - 4 night river cruise program taking in the most incredible sights of the Murray River.
Taking passengers for the first time through some of the most pristine and intact ecological forests, to places of geographic, historic and Aboriginal cultural significance, the PS Emmylou will travel along the world’s third longest navigable river, to world heritage wetlands, and the world’s largest red gum forest.
With only 9 cabins, and the Murray River as muse, this boutique steam-powered cruise, is able to moor alongside outstanding river wineries, drop in to local producers, pause to explore heritage sites and access ancient Murray River tributaries on the MV Kingfisher with an environmental specialist.
The refitted contemporary cabins include fine linens topped with silky duvets, with the boats’ premier cabin, the Emmylou Suite located on the front Upper Deck, with French Doors opening to the deck and 180 degree views of the river.
Onboard dining, prepared by the Emmylou’s Chef, features local food and wine from across the Heathcote and Perricoota wine regions. Riverside campfires are offered in the evenings, with stunning night skies to complete this unique experience.

Cruising aboard a traditional wood fired paddlesteamer engages your senses from the moment you board: smell the warm oil of the 1906 engine, feel the heat as the engineer stokes the boiler with Redgum logs, climb up to the wheelhouse to chat to the Skipper, or just sit and gaze at the changing reflections in the water. Let the lilting rhythm and swish of the paddlewheels, the nostalgic hooting of the steam whistle, and the distant song of the Currawongs and Kookaburras conjure up the leisurely pace of bygone days. Along the way you’ll enjoy magical sunsets through the towering Redgums and watch the moon rise to accompany the stars on a clear night.
