Named in honour of the celestial Southern Cross, the Australian Star is a tribute to the guiding light that has long been part of Australia’s cultural identity. Taking over from the much-loved PS Emmylou, this next-generation vessel carries forward the romance of the paddle steamer era while embracing the comforts of modern travel. Powered by an original 1907 wood-fired steam engine, her rhythmic paddlewheels and gentle steam evoke the golden age of river travel as you drift through ever-changing landscapes.
On board, discover 19 beautifully appointed staterooms, each with private ensuites, air-conditioning, luxury linens, and direct deck access. The Hopwood Lounge & Bar, named after Echuca’s enterprising founder, and the elegant Randell Dining Room, honouring river pioneer William Randell, offer immersive spaces rich in story and style.
