Welcome to Victoria

As one of the most compact regions in Australia, Victoria offers a huge variety of landscapes and experiences within a few hours of Melbourne. Whether its coastal seascapes, alpine ski resorts, mighty rivers, great lakes, wildlife, food or wine, Victoria is all about quality experiences.

Many of the state’s regional attractions are less than a two-hour drive from Melbourne. But with more time to spare, the entire state offers a variety of scenic routes ideal for self-drive and personalised tours.

The Heart of Victoria Touring Route (HVTR) has been designed to provide international guests to Victoria a Touring Route beyond the traditional Victorian Coastal Highlights that can be accessed by an organised day tour.

HVTR has the option of either a 4 or 5 night tour with the later including a visit to the coastal holiday spot of Portsea on the magical Mornington Peninsular then continuing by Ferry the next day across to Queenscliff.

HVTR takes the traveller to Victoria’s heritage heart of Bendigo via Daylesford and the famous Hepburn Springs. From Bendigo it is a short trip to Echuca, the Paddlesteamer Capital of Australia and now famous for it’s historical Port, dining options and shopping. From Echuca the tour wanders through one of the best natural wetlands in Australia visiting Barmah then continuing along the Murray River ending at Brown Brothers Winery in Milawa for a relaxing afternoon of lunch and wine tastings at this famous winery. From Milawa the tour continues down towards Healesville where guests can visit the world famous Healesville Sanctuary Wild Life Park, which is a must for any international guest. After a good nights sleep the final day is a short trip back to Melbourne but not before visiting some the of the best Australian Wineries and fine eateries in the Yarra Valley.

The Heart of Victoria Route showcases Victoria's rich heritage together with some of Australia's very best food and wine locations and is sure to delight any visitor to the Great State of Victoria
