Guests enjoying Upper Deck Cabins will now be able to choose from Twin Single, Double or Queen Cabins all with private ensuites, with doors opening to the outside affording neighbouring guests the unique opportunity to enjoy a social atmosphere, swapping stories and forming lasting friendships with fellow travellers. Our new Main Deck Twin Single Bed Cabins offer guests a shared Bathroom situated just outside the Cabins. Day 1

PS Emmylou departs historic Echuca, the Paddlesteamer Capital of Australia and heads upriver past the impressive Echuca wharf. Tonight, enjoy the sunset over the river as you enjoy a delicious five course welcome dinner. As we cruise under floodlight towards our turning point, you are sure to see nocturnal wildlife on the riverbank. Watch for kangaroos, wombats, egrets and many other species of birds. After dinner, we pull into Shinbone Alley where you can enjoy a drink around a riverside campfire.

    Day 2

This morning we cruise to the historical Moama wharf where you will enjoy breakfast right on the river overlooking Horseshoe Lagoon, one of the Murray’s 7000 wetlands where you can take a leisurely morning walk on the raised boardwalk overlooking the lagoon where you will see many native birds, animals, plants and fish.

Here we commence your half day excursion travelling 30 minutes to the small town of Barmah. Enjoy a traditional Australian morning tea riverside before departing on your 1.5 hours Eco Cruise, where you can get up close to Australian nature and wildlife. Nowhere else in the world can you experience such timeless, natural beauty and peace as when you are gliding through the World-Heritage listed Barmah Wetlands aboard the MV Kingfisher. You’ll understand why they have been named “ Wetlands of International Importance” as you slip quietly across the water in the dappled shade of towering gums of the world’s largest single stand of River Red Gum. Kingfisher travels the narrowest section of the Murray River, between Albury and the ocean called the ‘Narrows’ or the ‘Barmah Choke’ where the river travels at almost twice the normal speed.

We then visit the beautiful Cape Horn Winery overlooking the Murray River. Enjoy complimentary tastings with the owners before a relaxing lunch after which you have time for a walk through the vineyard or just relax with a glass of wine on the lawn overlooking the Murray River. Back on-board we spend the rest of the day cruising downriver before pulling into our evening mooring at Layfield Lane. Here you can take a late afternoon swim in the river, go bushwalking or relax with a pre-dinner drink. Tonight, enjoy an Australian BBQ and campfire.

    Day 3

Wake to an early morning bush walk or relax over breakfast as we cruise back to Echuca arriving at 9.30am where we reluctantly say farewell. River Cruise Approximate 60km

    Great Murray River experience

My husband & I recently shared a great two night experience on PS Emmylou. Being our first visit to this area we wanted to see as much possible. Murray River Paddlesteamers made sure of this with the bonus of a visit to the Dharnya Indigineous Centre for a cultural experience, a cruise on the Kingfisher through the world heritage Barmah wetlands with excellent commentary & a bonus of a visit to a vineyard on the Murray where we enjoyed woodfired pizzas in the beautiful grounds of Cape Horn.

The Emmylou experience was one we will always remember, thanks to Rowen & his wonderful friendly team, right from my first contact with Kathy in the office down to "Dan the man" in the steam-room (& best the best evening campfires ). The operating team on board were amazing, providing friendly service at all times. The food & service was excellent with Chef Kerry serving up amazing meals & Jo looking after us with food & drinks. Captain James was at the Helm & made sure we saw the best of the Murray. As a bonus the passengers were excellent company - it's amazing how in only 2 days we were like a big happy family by the end of the cruise.
