Departing at 6.30pm PS Emmylou farewells the Paddlesteamer Capital of Australia and heads upstream while you enjoy our chef prepared dinner. As we cruise under floodlight to our overnight mooring at Flemings Bend, you are sure to see nocturnal wildlife on the riverbank. Watch for kangaroos, wombats, egrets and many other species of birds. After dinner enjoy a drink around the riverside campfire (subject to weather conditions) with your fellow passengers and maybe a song before retiring.

This morning we cruise to the historical Moama wharf where you will enjoy breakfast right on the river overlooking Horseshoe Lagoon. Here we commence your day excursion. We travel to Barmah where you can get up close to Australian culture with a visit to the Dharnya Indigenous Centre where you will learn about the significance of the river and Wetlands by local indigenous guides. After the visit, we then enjoy an Australian morning tea on the banks of the river at the beginning of the narrows.

It is then all board MV Kingfisher for a Wetlands cruise with expert guide to share the secrets of the local flora and birdlife. Nowhere else in the world can you experience such timeless natural beauty and peace as when you are gliding through the World Heritage listed Barmah Wetlands.

This afternoon we visit the award-winning Cape Horn Winery overlooking the Murray River. After lunch and complimentary tastings with the owners you have time for a walk through the vineyard or just relax with a glass of wine on the lawn overlooking the Murray River.

Back onboard we cruise downstream in the afternoon sun before pulling into our evening mooring at Layfield Lane. Here you can take a swim in the river, go bushwalking or relax with a pre-dinner drink. Tonight, enjoy an Australian BBQ and campfire.

Wake to an early morning bush walk or just relax over breakfast as we cruise back to Echuca where we reluctantly say farewell arriving at 9.00am at Dock.

    Great Murray River experience

My husband & I recently shared a great two night experience on PS Emmylou. Being our first visit to this area we wanted to see as much possible. Murray River Paddlesteamers made sure of this with the bonus of a visit to the Dharnya Indigineous Centre for a cultural experience, a cruise on the Kingfisher through the world heritage Barmah wetlands with excellent commentary & a bonus of a visit to a vineyard on the Murray where we enjoyed woodfired pizzas in the beautiful grounds of Cape Horn.

The Emmylou experience was one we will always remember, thanks to Rowen & his wonderful friendly team, right from my first contact with Kathy in the office down to "Dan the man" in the steam-room (& best the best evening campfires ). The operating team on board were amazing, providing friendly service at all times. The food & service was excellent with Chef Kerry serving up amazing meals & Jo looking after us with food & drinks. Captain James was at the Helm & made sure we saw the best of the Murray. As a bonus the passengers were excellent company - it's amazing how in only 2 days we were like a big happy family by the end of the cruise.
