    New Heritage Cabins with Ensuites

    We are delighted to announce that PS Emmylou will feature brand new cabins with ensuites ready for September Spring Cruising 2018.

    Welcome to your home aboard Paddlesteamer Emmylou, named after the famous American Country singer Emmylou Harris. We invite you to relax in a warm, inviting atmosphere of mid 1800’s riverboat charm without sacrificing modern conveniences. From September Emmylou will feature fine linens and plush new bedding which will ensure you are well rested to fully enjoy your time aboard with us.


    Departing at 6.30pm from the Port of Echuca you have time for a relaxing drink from the bar or a visit to the wheelhouse to see the Skipper as the sun starts to set over the river.

    Listen to the river birds evening chorus, watch for kangaroos, wombats, egrets and many other species of birds as the stars begin to appear while you enjoy your chef prepared 3 course dinner. PS Emmylou powerful floodlights then light the banks of the river as nocturnal wildlife begin to appear

    After turning we continue downstream back under the Echuca/Moama Bridge where we pass the imposing Echuca Wharf lit up for the evening and other Paddlesteamers moored after their day on the river. After our dinner guests disembark we cruise 12km along the river passing Morrisons Winery & Restaurant, a great lunch spot before pulling into our mooring for the evening at Layfield Lane.

    Here we set up a campfire (subject to weather) under the stars where you can enjoy a good yarn with your fellow passengers. Relax with a beverage from the bar or roast marshmallows before retiring for the evening at your leisure.


    Wake to an early morning bush walk or relax over breakfast as we cruise back to Echuca arriving at 9.00am where we reluctantly say farewell

    Melbourne Transfers

    Transfers are available from Melbourne CBD Hotels on the morning of your cruise between 10am - 11am. Your transfer includes a visit to Mitchleton Winery with optional lunch before arriving in Echuca at 4.00pm. Your return journey includes a stop over morning visit at Bendigo with a 2pm drop off at Melbourne Airport or 2.30pm CBD Hotels.

  • Mercedes-Benz Van - Min 2 passengers - Max 6 passengers - $200 return per person
  • Train - Min 1 passenger - $65 return per person (Australian Concession Price $35 return per person)

    Note: Train maybe replaced with coach from Bendigo subject to timetable. Coach Transfers for Groups of 8 - 22 are also available upon request.

    Great Murray River experience

    My husband & I recently shared a great two night experience on PS Emmylou. Being our first visit to this area we wanted to see as much possible. Murray River Paddlesteamers made sure of this with the bonus of a visit to the Dharnya Indigineous Centre for a cultural experience, a cruise on the Kingfisher through the world heritage Barmah wetlands with excellent commentary & a bonus of a visit to a vineyard on the Murray where we enjoyed woodfired pizzas in the beautiful grounds of Cape Horn.

    The Emmylou experience was one we will always remember, thanks to Rowen & his wonderful friendly team, right from my first contact with Kathy in the office down to "Dan the man" in the steam-room (& best the best evening campfires ). The operating team on board were amazing, providing friendly service at all times. The food & service was excellent with Chef Kerry serving up amazing meals & Jo looking after us with food & drinks. Captain James was at the Helm & made sure we saw the best of the Murray. As a bonus the passengers were excellent company - it's amazing how in only 2 days we were like a big happy family by the end of the cruise.
